Registration for EDM: John Janzen Nature Centre: Clever Creatures 2019 is Closed

What does a woodpecker eat? Where does a beaver sleep? Where did that sparrow go? We'll take a close look at how animals build their homes, what they eat and how they adapt to the city. We'll try our hand at nest building or food gathering and see if we are as clever as the creatures!

WHERE: John Janzen Nature Centre, 7000 143 Street, Edmonton AB
WHEN: Friday, September 20
TIME: 9:30-11:00am
WHO: CFL Students Gr.1-4
COST: CFL Student = $11 (Student Resource Allocation may be applied if available.Should a student exceed the Student Resource Allocation, it is the parents' responsibility to pay for the event or cancel registration.)
Parent/ Guardian = $5
Sibling (best suited for attendees ages 5-8) = $11

This activity will meet some of the learning outcomes of Science including Needs of animals and plants, crawling and flying animals, and building materials.:

This event is suitable for students grades 1-4.
Risks: The general risks possible at all school events are listed in the Acknowledgment of Risk and Informed Consent below. Mitigating factors for each risk are stated as well. If you have questions or concerns please contact the Program Enhancement Coordinator hosting the event.

Supervision: Supervision ratios will be in accordance with School Board policy, Safety Guidelines for Physical Activity in Alberta Schools and venue requirements. For specific details on the supervision ratios please see the Acknowledgement of Risk and Informed Consent below. This information is also provided in the monthly Events Newsletters.

Registration Timeline: Registration for CFL Siblings will commence 1 month following the date the event opens. Registration for CFL Siblings will open on September 9.
