Searching for a hands-on experience for your mini-paleontologists? Join an experienced park guide to explore the meandering valleys of the badlands on this family-friendly hike. Through interactive activities, such as casting bones and searching for real dinosaur fossils, your family will learn more about the Cretaceous creatures that stomped through this land millions of years ago.
Distance: 2 kms
Time frame: 2 hours
Terrain: uneven - some small hills
Bring: water, snack, sunscreen, hat & close-toed shoes

The Centrosaurus Bonebed Hike
This adventure is your opportunity to experience the exceptional concentration of fossils that make Dinosaur Provincial Park world-famous. With a knowledgeable guide, you will trek over sandy terrain and through grassy valleys to a former dig site that contains the remains of hundreds of horned dinosaurs!
As you investigate the clues in the landscape, you will discover the ideas about why so many dinosaurs are preserved at this one unique site.
Distance: 4 km round trip
Time frame: 3 hours
Terrain: varied, loose ground cover and some hills
Bring: lots of water, snacks, hat, sunscreen, close-toed shoes
